This is how Google makes their money. The ads you see at the top and down the right side of Google response pages are called Adwords, or sponsored links. Maps / Place / Google+

Google is still working out how best to use their Google maps feature. Businesses that Google think are most relevant or that they are most confident exist in a specific location, will show up on the places listings on a Google response page too. This can be great for trades people, lawyers, accountants, doctors, restaurants and other businesses that generally only get used by local people.
